We celebrate Halloween every year on October 31st.
In the old times people from Scotland thought ghosts visited the living people. So they dressed up costumes to look like ghosts,pirates, witches, etc so that the spirit stay away from them. They staretd using pumpkins and put candles inside to the spirits, too. Later they gave the food to poor people. And when the poor visited the houses they said
''trick or treat.''.
Now all popple dress up different costumes,visit houses, and say ''trick or treat'' , then they scare the guests or they ask for the best sweets...
